Since I was 21, I have been involved in a variety of philanthropic causes including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, March of Dimes, Junior Achievement, The Kalamazoo Disability Resource Center, American Heart Association and other local non-profits.
I was selected Big Brother of the Year in 1986 and Kalamazoo County Volunteer of the Year in 1998.
Currently I am the President of The Harry Stout Foundation, a non-profit started in honor of my son Harry who passed unexpectedly in November of 2004. In the last three years Harry’s foundation has presented over $ 40,000 in scholarships and over $ 10,000 to families battling medical expenses.
I believe we all have an obligation to make a difference today…right now! It doesn’t even require much time or money….a helping hand to someone in need; a kind comment…even a smile goes a long way.
One by one we can lead the way to a better life for everyone…I hope you agree. |
